Ambience (view) is great. The servers were polite and helpful. Food was okay...I tasted my friend (seafood pasta with tomato sauce which was good).

2023-09-29 18:44:53As a tourist who has been to both the Flatiron and Downtown locations, this Flatiron location falls a bit short compared to Downtown, but on its own is a great place for a pasta and pizza lunch, well with a trip. This location is at street level, and a bit more casual (in comparison to downtown) though the decor was very clean and elegant. Our service was good, if a bit blunt, and our server checked on us several times. My lasagna was very rich with many sheets of fresh lasagna. I liked it, and my daughter loved it. My kids were not presented with a kids menu, but there was a kids cheese pizza available upon request, which was enjoyed. My eldest daughter loved her four cheese pizza (and ordered it at the other location this same trip). I appreciated there being a few craft beers on tap. I didn't love the fresh bread we ordered. It was only $3, and served with olive oil - it was soft with 4 big pieces, but a nibble of my daughters' pizza crust was more appealing, so I'll skip it next time. We closed out our lunch sharing an amazing tiramisu - so creamy and delicious!
a month agoI was actually greatly disappointed by my experience at La Pizza La Pasta this time around, which is saddening since I have been here before a while ago and remembered it being great. My friend and I had a reservation and the hostess was very kind, and we were seated quickly. However, service was slow and inattentive. My friend had received her meal before mine, which is fine, but my meal did not come out for about 10-15 minutes after hers was brought to our table. She had ordered a calzone, and we made it very clear that was her entree, so I don’t understand why they brought them out so far apart. I got the tagliatelle bolognese, which to my understanding, just needs the sauce to heat and the fresh pasta to boil, which doesn’t take that long. My friend’s calzone was delicious, but honestly the pasta was mediocre and the portion was small for what you pay for. The sauce was kind of watery (see below). Not the thick, rich sauce I imagine when I hear bolognese. I genuinely think I could’ve made the same thing at home. Waiters were largely inattentive - no one checked in on us, and we had to flag down waiters to ask for more water, and for me, cheese on my pasta (which was strange, because other tables were automatically offered it when they received their dish.) TLDR: No matter how the food is, I don’t mind paying the price if the service is good. Unfortunately in this case, the service was bad and the food was mediocre. Left annoyed, and honestly, still hungry.
4 weeks agoThe hostess is very rude. Not fit to be in the hospitality/service industry. The server also charged us $8 for a bottle of still water when we asked for tap... Sadly the food was really good but never coming here again. Only can give 2 stars despite the food, because of the staff and service issues.
a month agoPretty good Italian food for reasonable price, especially with the Eataly restaurant feast that ended yesterday - but I believe it will be back soon. The service is a little slow. Highly recommend you book a reservation since the line can get pretty long. It is located in the Eataly market so great place to browse for Italian produce after your meal.
6 months agoEataly is a good outlet with a lot of groceries and produce as well as restaurants. We went to La Pizza & La Pasta. We had reservations and we got a seat pretty instantly. The place is bustling and can be overwhelming as there are multiple restaurants in there. We tried the focaccia bread and gnocchi for the antipasti and the bread was really good. For the next course we had the pizza with white truffle and it was really delicious. The crust was one of the softest and thinnest I've seen. The real blockbuster was the Tiramisu which was very good as well. Overall a really good place to try!!
