Big fan of this family of restaurants (Hart’s has been a favorite) and finally made it over to Cervos. Outdoor dining in the summer is gorgeous and all the staff have been lovely every time. Servings are perfect for a group of three with larger groups you’ll def want to order more. The highlights for me are the vermouth selection, the grilled shrimp, the sea bass and the flan. Order lots of bread to mop up the flavors and oils from the sea bream and shrimp. The sea bream changes a little with the seasons but during the summer they had an amazing grilled onion/orange sauce and I haven’t stopped thinking about it. The flan was so good we ordered a second one after taking our first bite — I suggest you follow suit bc it’s too good to share.

Came here for a Saturday dinner, booked in advance, as the place is packed. The staff was quite nice, and in general were a bit rushed, but we were a bit happy with it as we didn’t have much time. The place is medium sized and music is playing a bit loud, but just enough to make it vibey. Menu is not really all about sea food, at least on our visit, but all of the dishes were really special and tasty! Nothing really appealed to me in their home cocktail list and I ended up with a great IPA, while my partner took a classic Negroni. The olives were a really great addition to the cocktails and the highlight was the Sea Bream (they didn’t mention that the dish includes prawns). The french fries was a bit too cooked in my opinion, but none the less good. The fried mushrooms were quite garlicky, but still good. All portion sizes were quite generous and we had a lovely experience all in all. Would definitely come back!

The shrimp heads are a must-try. If you want a cocktail, get the Adonis. And if you order the manila clams, trust me you’ll want some sourdough to go with it. The shrimp heads. Despite never having stepped in Spain or Portugal, I grow nostalgic of this flavor. My coastal hometown is known for skin-on fried shrimp. Crustacean shells hold a different concentrated flavor from the flesh, like bisque extract, that is further intensified by the tomalley. Wonderful. You can’t get this elsewhere. The manila clams feel like a different take of Moules Mariniere. You need a side of bread to soak up the sauce and clam juice. Great, but I’ll stick with the mussels with chablis at my regular spot. The breaded skate feels light despite being deep-fried, not greasy at all. The acidic spring onion sauce and cilantro add a freshness. While the skate fillet is flavorful, it’s too soft without the cartilaginous texture I love. As for the drinks, flavor-wise I find them on the overdiluted side but the bartender coaxed out the aroma of the drinks. The Adonis is the must try. Cervo’s menu highlights the sherry and vermouth. Adonis contains both. I sound nitpicky but really the food is great. Cervo’s is a mainstay favorite at Dimes Square for good reason. I want to go back primarily for the shrimp heads and Adonis.

The food at Cervo’s is exceptional. Very seasonal, reasonably priced, considered and always flavorful. The beverage program is strong and the vibes are always great. Outdoor tables on Canal are a dream. I’m reluctant to say anything negative because this restaurant is such a go-to, and I have had such memorable, delicious dinners there, but I have noticed the service becoming a little less friendly/genuine over time. Even familiar faces have become a little tougher, a little less warm. It’s a shame because I truly adore this place. I don’t get the sense that they are interested in building relationships or growing their base of regulars as much as they are concerned with simply meeting demands of the scene and then clocking off. The hospitality factor is dwindling. Just my two cents! Always worth a visit for me, I may just go less frequently...

Wow. This place, unassuming and so chill, has some of the best food I’ve had as of late. It’s a cozy, dim-lit space and we were lucky to snag a res last minute. We started with vermouth service and shared 4 starters and one main. Fried artichokes (had to order the bread to mop up the dressing 🥰), cabbage salad (damnnnn), tuna conserva (a dish I’ll dream about on end), prawns (what flavor!) and the golden rice with chorizo and trout (rich but incredibly flavorful). Every single dish was a standout. Ended with the Pao de lo cake - like a dessert drink in cake form, not for the booze averse. Service was great, atmosphere was cool. No wonder this place is hard to get into!!
