Authenticatic Japanese cuisine. Sushi is on the expensive side. Excellent service. Cozy place, only one bathroom for all guests.
a month agoOur service was 5 star and the sushi was quality. Michael our server was top notch! I gave it 4 stars for the super small pieces of shasimi. The black cod was amazing. Total with tip for 2 was $225 and I left hungry.
6 months agoOne word to describe this establishment-inconsistent. I have visited Azabu 4 times and ordered delivery once, which of course would deem my rating as precise as one can get. It is such a shame, because I sincerely enjoy this restaurant and would even give it a high 4 star on days the Head chef is working. On days he is not available or on vacation it is an absolute disaster service wise and the food is almost a 2 star rating. Everything is Chewy, pale, horribly cut. When he is available everything is pristine. Buttery, fresh, delicious. Take a look at my depressing 150$ delivery order. My Otoro looks like it’s a phantom of yesterday’s Tuna. Better to close your restaurant on days the head chef isn’t available then keep open and lose clients.
2 years agoWe had the worst dinner experience tonight at Sushi Azabu. We ordered two sushi nigiri sets which came with the toro hand roll. The toro in my hand roll has two FISHBONES in it which I have never would have happened in a high end sushi place. We were very very upset and the waitress first said they can offer us matcha ice cream, then she said she will ask her manager again. Later, she came back and said the manager said only will give us a 15% discount on my set which we ended up paying $200+ with a low quality meal. We thought the manager will come to apologize to us and he NEVER did. I don’t wish this will happened to anyone again for their safety concerns.
9 months agoRating is based on the price of omakase, $180. For that price, the food, service & atmosphere was underwhelming. If they charged ~$100, it’d be 5 stars, but the omakase was good but not $180 good. The best was the seared salmon & sashimi, and almond mochi. The fish had no fishy taste for the most part, which I appreciated. Service was fine but it was hard to understand the waiter and the atmosphere was rated lower because the chairs weren’t comfortable. As a result of all these mediocre hits, the ultimate rating is 2/5. This omakase was supposedly amazing based on Reddit but I’ve come to realize that Reddit’s ratings aren’t that accurate.
