Lovely place in Reykjavik serving some of the best fish dishes! Good value for money with great portion size and good variety of food (in the fish grill you also get potatoes and some token greens 😋). Three of us ended up with two fish grills to share and that was the perfect amount! The only downside was that both dishes we ordered (cod tongue and wolfish) were a touch on the salty side.
a month agoOur friend recommended this place to us so we made a reservation for dinner. It’s the last night of our trip so we ordered a lot to indulge. We had the bread basket, grilled shrimp and cured salmon for our appetizers. The bread was so fluffy and a large portion. The shrimp was also so tasty. The cured salmon was a little out of our comfort zone as it is served with a raw appearance. It came with a sauce and some veggies which if you mixed all together - perfection. It ended up being my favorite of the three. Try it!!! For dinner we had the arctic char and the seafood pasta. The char comes with such a good sauce. Make sure to spoon it out the pan into your place. The seafood pasta was huge. We took half of it home. Both were so good - we were so impressed. Everything was well done including the service. Great teamwork from everyone working!
a month agoThis place came highly recommended to us from a local who we met at a bar the night before. Apparently she did local food tours, and this was one of her favorite spots. Recommended, we try the arctic char, which my husband ended up devouring every morsel of and loved. We went for a later lunch, which was lucky for us, because apparently this place is usually quite busy and requires reservations.
2 weeks agoThis dinner was a special treat for us. The decor, the service, the food was top tier. The lobster soup was unlike anything I have had, and as I am from New England I eat lobster regularly. The Arctic char and wolf fish were bite after bite smile inducing. I’ve never eaten Arctic char with the skin on, but the waitress explained its a must; a delicious and crispy component to the dish I’ve never done before. Everything cooked perfectly and the flavor profiles were so unique, it was so a joy to experience. Had to order a basket of bread to mop up more of the wolf fish sauce, but the dill and cream that came with the bread were delicious on their own. So special and worth every penny to experience a nice meal in Iceland. Highly recommend.
3 months agoThe food was great, but unfortunately there was a long wait (more than 30 minutes) between the starters and the main course and I had to chase for an update for a few times. The staff also seemed to be rushing you off and were not very polite. Lobster soup and a few famous dishes were sold out when I visited the restaurant.
