This meal was the best meal we had in Iceland. We traveled with a group and had dinner here. The setting is looking over the harbor. The staff are very attentive. For our starters my husband had the reindeer salad he really enjoyed. I had the best seafood soup ever. The base was this a very favorable , I would have been happy with just it but it had mussels and shrimp also. Husband had the lamb. He normally isn’t a huge fan of lamb but he loved it said it was cooked perfectly. I had a catch of the day fish was a white fish with sweet potatoes didn’t leave a thing on the plate. We had a nice chocolate cake for dessert.

This is a lovely restaurant situated in Reykjavik's harbor area. It's quite a casual restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere and positive vibes. 😊 The menu is quite extensive ... with many good choices. 😋😋 I really like their food that is tasty and nicely presented and I've enjoyed some great meals ... both indoors and in the summer in the restaurant's outdoor seating area. 👍👍 The staff is also very friendly and accommodating. I can truly recommend this restaurant. 👍😍👍

The fish and chips was amazing, buttery soft. The herb crusted cod was also amazing with the sweet potato base. All the little things were perfect, the bread before the main course was warm and with a crunchy outside and soft inside, the butter was warm, soft, flavorful. The staff was super nice and it’s a great cozy atmosphere on a cold night.

We made a same day reservation and glad we did as the place was packed. The owner greeted us and was very friendly and accommodating in making sure we were happy with our seat. The view upstairs was stunning with a huge window of the harbor. The service was a bit slow but we understood there were few staff and big crowds. We enjoyed the fresh bread and rye butter. AllThe Basil cocktail was a bit weak but tasty. The seafood soup was outstanding, so fresh and creamy and flavorful. Essence of the sea. All of our dishes were presented well, tasty and the portions were satisfying. However our whole evening was made delightful by our waitstaff ,( i didn't get a name but have his picture) he was happy, fast, friendly and went the extra mile to tell us about secret tourist spots. He was interested in our travels and wanted to show off his country. It was a great first meal because of him in Reykjavik. He made sure we were well taken care of at all times, apologizing for the wait etc. All in all we had a great experience at Hofnin and happy we visited. The quality of the food and cooking speaks for itself .

Food was delicious! We sat outside and they provide a bakery of blankets and there's a roof cover in case it rains. Friendly staff, lovely ambience.
