Tamarind has to be one of my favorite Indian restaurants in the city. The food is amazing, very refined and flavorful. The food is also not very spicy and can be enjoyed by anyone. The service here is amazing and the staff really ensures that everything you have is perfect and that you are well taken care of. Every time I have been, the food has been wonderful. The last time I went, I did the tasting menu and it was perfect for a big group and we got to choose between a couple different menus. I definitely recommend the lamb which is perfectly cooked and spiced. The food came out quick and was perfect. They also have the best lychee martini and the margaritas were so good as well. The ambiance is also amazing and really great for big groups of people or intimate dinners.
2 months agoNice good Indian food. While the food was not bad and good, the chicken was very bad. It was dry, hard and I never thought I would get that in a restaurant of that level. My first visit. The star of the event was service. So I will try again some time.
2 months agoBest Indian food in New York. The place is beautiful and staff are amazing. While that’s all nice, the food is out of this world. I’ve only recently discovered Indian food and have liked what I found. But I loved what I ate at Tamarind. I will be back on every trip to New York. A must go for anyone who likes Indian.
4 months agoI highly recommend going to Tamarind to celebrate a special occasion! The chicken tikka masala, chicken takka tak, lamb vindaloo and saag paneer were incredible. For dessert, you must try the cardamom crème brûlée which was unlike anything I had before! I’d describe the menu as elevated traditional Indian food with exquisite flavor. Staff was very attentive (including to gluten free, all nuts and sesame allergies) and the ambiance of the whole restaurant was lovely.
a month agoIt was a birthday dinner reservation and the place was very busy. The ambiance was great although a bit too noisy for my liking. We ordered some drinks. Sunrise in Mumbai and Jaljeera were great. For appetizers, highly recommend the Amritsari Seekh Kabab. For entreé, highly recommend the Nargisi Kofta. The desserts were average - we got the Gajrela and the rasmalai. The service was quick however the server on our table was rude and didn’t have service etiquettes. Overall, definitely recommend to try atleast once.
